In striving to create a collection of Christmas Blessing Cards I created this mousy character. Like me he’s far from perfect! But his smile is one of PURE CONTENTMENT. Honestly, I spent many mousy hours trying to assemble & arrange this simple string of words to LIGHT THE DAY. I have 2-3 other variations I’m still playing around with but for today I’m happy with the progress on this little mouse.
Here’s A little Sunday Song. I hope it encourages you today!
WHELP.. I started sketching tonight with the intention of continuing my Christmas Card Collection… and ended up with a Caramel Apple Character. ( I’m still debating adding color to her hair) Maybe I’ve watched one too many Hallmark Movies lately?? but I think it might be time to get some air and give Christmas Creating a break … at least for a few days. I’m going to visit the local trail and who knows maybe even pick up some apples at the farmers market.
Have a wonderful weekend Friends ❤
I selected Mele Kalikimaka as the theme for yesterdays sketchy challenge. Here we know that Christmas Will Be Green & BRIGHT! 😀 I selected a pineapple or shall I say FINEAPPLE as my starting character as I have been noticing the Pineapple Christmas Tree Trend that’s been going around the interwebs. What do you think? Maybe it will inspire you to take a little time to sketch your own pineapple Christmas Tree ? or even decorate a real one at home.
I hope you enjoy this musical selection that helped to inspire this theme.
Sometimes in life we want to fall into a preset . It’s easy to do. It’s easy to look at the success of others or to compare with what others are doing.. and say hey I should just do what that other person is doing and then I might have some success. But what if what you are called to do is something that has never been done before? Alas! There’s a challenge designed just for you! YOU ARE SPECIAL after all!
So Don’t be afraid to explore your gifts.
In reading Romans 12:6 God reveals to us that we all have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. Have you ever wondered what’s your gift? I struggled with this question for years. After all there is no ” Encouragement Career Path” in College. I wasn’t one of those kids that knew exactly what they wanted to do by age 5. I had no ah ha! I want to be a doctor , dentist, or astronaut moment. I do know however that my gift is to encourage so here I am (starting where I can) spreading encouragement one sketch at a time.
Challenge: Spend 10 minutes sketching a gift or dream you’ve hidden away. I’m not sure if you’ve heard the song. This little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine? Below is an updated version which I hope will encourage you. ❤
